Nagahama Neru's calligraphy on show again in Brody

Neru's beautiful calligraphy is on display again in the April issue of Brody magazine. Only this time, she is writing her own haiku poems, so writing both kanji (Chinese characters) and kana (Japanese alphabet). Offshots:

"Drawing near, I look up -- a great keyaki in winter."

KeyaBINGO hosts Sandwichman raising money for East Japan Earthquake orphans

The hosts of KeyaBINGO, the comedy duo Sandwichman (Date Mikio and Tomizawa Takeshi) are from Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, one of the places hard-hit by the devastating East Japan Earthquake that happened exactly six years ago today.

Since then, they have been active in earthquake relief, particularly in raising funds to support children whose parents were lost in the earthquake and tsunami.

Date (left) and Tomizawa recently passed cheques totalling 6.65 million yen (~$65,000) to the governor of Fukushima Prefecture for that purpose. He gave them a gift of Fukushima strawberries.

This brings the total of money they have raised for earthquake relief and reconstruction in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures to over 400 million yen (~$4 million).

Yesterday, I ate a croquette.
Thinking about it, I hadn't eaten a croquette for a long time.

I thought:
I haven't eaten a single croquette since I became part of Keyakizaka.

It's surprising how much I like croquettes.
For a while, they reigned at the top of my "things I like" rankings.

The more I say the word "croquette,"
I come to think: "What? Is 'Croquette' a name?"

It's like the feeling you get when you look at a kanji for a long time and think:
"What? Is that what that kanji looks like?"

I was just looking over the photos in my phone.
I say that, but I only looked at 234 of them...

Lots of photos from when I went to the seaside and photos of Bamu.
Even though I don't really like summer, I wanted to feel that summer feeling ( ・_・)/

I want to roll around on the tatami with Bamu ~ [note: Bamu is her dog, back home in Aichi.]

I want to have a BBQ

I want to play tennis

I want to eat the bento at the gym

I want to be in a ball tournament

I guess I want to go back to my student days for a while ( ￣_￣)

Recently, Mii-Pan (Sasaki Mirei)
MeiMei (Higashimura Mei) and I went out together.

We looked at clothes, ate, did various things ~ !

But when there was nothing left to do

Like other members of Hiragana Keyaki, Katoshi seems to be thinking of the group as separate from Kanji Keyaki. But of course, members and administration also speak of the groups as one. The status of Hiragana and its relationship with Kanji remains a mystery.

Note Memi's hand around Katoshi's waist, note how far forward she brings her face, and note how directly Memi looks right into the camera and at the viewer. Notice Kumi's boyish cap. Memi is15, Katoshi 19, and Kumi 21. These three seem to be close friends. Memi is, at least so far, co-centre of Hiragana with Neru. Kumi is the group's main MC. Katoshi's beauty, self-beautification, and intimate way of relating to fans have made her the best handshake-seller among the Hiraganas, as we will see in her next post, which I have uploaded right after this one.

Suzumoto Miyu: The many ways she shines

Japanese fans are finally discovering just how great Suzumon is. Here are some comments brought together by a Keyakizaka46 news site.

1 -- At the the top level in the group for performance strength and variety talent and lovely in looks and being easy to get along with.

5 -- I'm a Suzumon oshi, too. There may be prettier members, but her looks are fully satisfactory. And her potential level is high.

3 -- Since she's basically so majime, I worry that she might not be very good on talk shows.

4 -- (to #3) Since she's cute and teasable, I think it will be fine. She'll gradually get used to doing it.

6 -- Now that you mention it, she really does have high specs.

11 -- I think of her as a beautiful woman who's aiming at being an entertainer and whose face leaves a strong impression.

The other day,
I made a day-trip home to Nagasaki o(^o^)o

By chance, it was the day of my school's graduation ceremony.
Knowing I should greet my teachers, I went there secretly!

They showed me the graduation album,
And I chattered loudly with my friends!

Who I'd spoken with in the classroom,
Having a nosebleed during class...
It all came back to me like it was yesterday ~

But although things seemed not to have changed, they had changed.
It made me sad to realize that was true.

Rabiko was born in the last part of February (exactly which day, I'm not sure T-T lol), and is now seven years old \( ´ ꒳ ` )/ ♥

At handshake events, people often ask me: "How's Rabiko?" ₍ ᐢ. ̫ .ᐢ ₎ lol

He's definitely well and happy, but I have never told you that in my blog!

The reason...?

Because I can't take photos of him…!!(꒪⌓︎꒪) lol

Rabiko hates being held and just runs away ヽ(*´з`*)ﾉ

For that reason, I often photograph him using continuous shooting ( ˙o˙ )

Why are rabbits in the petting corner at zoos so well-behaved that they will sit on your lap? ( ˙-˙ )

A few days ago it was announced that we would put on a first anniversary live on April 6, the day of our debut!!!

The place will be Yoyogi National Gymnasium, arena 1!

This is where I think about the first time we stood on stage and performed, before our debut.

At that point we were happy just to be able to perform live!!

Hello.

When I was changing trains recently, there were pigeons on the platform. I don't like pigeons, and in struggling to stay away from them I missed my train.

And it was the express...

Thank you for yesterday's last handshake event of the 3rd single ☆彡

So those handshake events are already over... It seemed so quick ( ´・ω・)ﾉ

I ended up missing a lot of 2nd single handshake events, and felt really badly about it.

So for the 3rd single, I promised myself I would definitely do them all. That was the goal I set.

But at the very first event in Nagoya, I became ill partway through. It was really frustrating.

I'm sorry for causing everyone so much trouble.

For the 3rd single events, I came up with all kinds of ways of my own of doing them.

I don't know if they were all okay, but from now on I will continue to proceed by trial and error.

Memi's father must be proud and worried at the same time. He sent her to Tokyo thinking she had barely turned 15, and suddenly she's closing in on 17. This week, in a red dress, a black choker and a motorcycle jacket, she had otaku gasping at a handshake event.
