Nagahama Neru blog: The work of an idol

Random Thoughts,  205

Good evening~

There's a show I love.
It's NHK's "Job Discovery," in which
Entertainers try out different occupations.
It's not being broadcast now, however...

I watched it when I was in middle school,
And realized that
There were all kinds of work in the world
I had the vague feeling that they all were worth doing
But also had their disagreeable aspects.

"Ah, I want to go to work soon," I thought.

(Better to see this from an elementary- and middle-school point of view!!!)

Now it has somehow turned out
That I am working as an idol
(I'm intentionally presenting "idol" as an occupation.)

Although we today
Are not in the image I used to have of idols as
Beings above the clouds who may or may not exist.

Here in an age when all kinds of media are so developed,
Some kind of information is coming out every minute, every second.

Nagasawa Nanako is friends with Shouji Mei of Tokyo Girls' Style

We learned from Naako back in February that she and Shouji Mei 庄司芽生 of Tokyo Girls' Style 東京女子流 knew each other. Now Shouji-san has published a series of photos of them going out to eat together. With Naako wearing her new hairstyle.

"Gross!" -- what idols really think of handshake events

From Buzz Plus News, reported by "marie." Translated and adapted. There's no proof this is a real interview, but it makes sense to me. Maybe some idols just enjoy handshake events, but I think many may feel like the supposed interviewee.

Pretty well all guys would like to shake hands with a cute girl. Fans pay hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars to buy CDs, etc., so they can get tickets to meet the idols they like. But what do the girls feel? Do they really enjoy handshake events?

We were able to speak with Miss S, an idol in her twenties, a member of a well-known multi-member idol group. She agreed to tell us what she really felt, as long as we did not reveal her name or identity.

reporter -- Are handshake events enjoyable for idols?

Idol --  Before the event starts, we peek out at the crowd without being seen. We think: so many people have come! Wonderful! So many are still coming! I'm so happy!!

reporter -- How do you feel during the handshake event itself?

Idol -- "Gross." Generally, they all seem gross. (laughs) I really feel grateful when all the fans are gathering, but when I'm face-to-face with them, it's no good. They're all sick-making. It's a comfort when an occasional handsome guy comes, but when you talk to him, he's gross, or he smells gross. In the end, everyone seems gross!

reporter -- That must be very hard emotionally -- shaking hands with them over such a long period of time.

Idol -- So you play little mental games with yourself. Like when you look at their faces, it's "gross, gross, handsome, gross, gross, gross, handsome, gross..." Like that. "Three handsome ones in a row and I'll have sushi tonight." (laughs)

Nagasawa Nanako blog: in the first line

4th single

Nagasawa Nanako
2017.02.27

Good evenaako (*⌒▽⌒*)

Did you see
Yesterday's Keyakitte, Kakenai?

The formation for the 4th single
Was announced!

And somehow
For the 4th single
I have been put
In the "front"!

In the singles
I only have experience of being in the third line,
So when I heard I was in the first line
I was really shocked.

It made me worried and nervous.

There was fear there, too.

However,
The experience I got from Bokutachi no Sensou (five cards)
Was really big for me.

Nagahama Neru and Hayashida Mahiro of Fairies

Fans of Keyakizaka46 only learned a week ago of Neru's apparent friendship with Hayashida Mahiro 林田真尋, of the idol group Fairies フェアリーズ, when Neru published a photo of the two of them with their faces switched by software, showing how similar their features were.

But fans of Mahiro-chan have seen pictures of her with Neru before. Here they are together from a Mahiro tweet on 7 August 2016:

You can see that Neru is wearing the outfit she wore in the KeyaBINGO episode where she flashed a come-hither glance that destroyed the hosts. Mahiro may have been at the Nippon TV studios when they were either recording or rehearsing that show. Fairies has done numerous NTV shows in the past. In the tweet, Mahiro said she had met Neru and that she loved her.

Keyakizaka46 members seeing members of AKB, TGS, SuperGirls

In the members' blogs just now there is a run of two-shots of Keyakizaka46 members with members of other idol groups: Oda Nana with Kawamoto Saya of AKB48. Nagasawa Nanako with Shouji Mei of Tokyo Girls' Style. Ishimori Nijika with Watanabe Koume of SUPER☆GiRLS -- and with Ikoma Rina of Nogizaka46.

Oda says she went out to eat recently with Sayaya, and that they are the same age (18), so it's easy to talk:
