Kakizaki Memi -- BOMB magazine interview and photos

The May issue of BOMB magazine has a photo feature on the front row of the Kyun senbatsu: Sasaki Mirei, Saitou Kyouko, Kosaka Nao, Katou Shiho, and Kakizaki Memi.

Many photos have been online for a few weeks now, but one of Memi, along with a Chinese translation of her interview, has just shown up on a Chinese site. Here's the fuzzy photo, along with my fuzzy English translation.

Memi says she liked performing as Hiragana Keyaki, but that in show business, you have to keep moving forward, and she realizes that the name-change was necessary. She also talks about Neru, about her parents, about acting and performing in lives, and about what she wants to learn more about.

She talks about Joyful Love, and how pretty the "gradation" of colours is. She asks that we watch the Mechakari TV commercial. There's speculation in Japanese comments that she's wearing the Joyful Love outfit under that coat, lol. Could this be the week the single is announced? Independently or as part of a Kanji single? Or a double-A side single? On Hirate's radio show Thursday? (Hopeful.)

Hiragana Keyaki: will 2nd-generation member Kosaka Nao become centre? 

-- My feelings after seeing the TV ad featuring their new song Joyful Love.

Hiragana Keyaki’s new song, Joyful Love, is being used in the new Mechakari ad now on air. Mechakari is a fashion rental app that Keyakizaka46 were image characters for. Now it is Hiragana Keyaki in a “Mechakari x Hiragana Keyakizaka46” collaboration.

Hiragana 2nd-generation member Kosaka Nao 小坂菜緒 acts as the main figure in the ad. Fans are asking: “Is Kosaka finally centre?” Her overwhelming visuals have had people calling her the next centre right from her debut. So I thought I would look into Kosaka’s appeal.

Risa and Nao-chan among most popular Sakamichis at Girls Award; Nao-chan to model for Seventeen

Someone has judged the popularity of the various Sakamichi models at Girls' Award last week by counting likes and retweets on Twitter (I think just from the Modelpress account, which covered the event).

And Nao-chan (Kosaka Nao, Hiragana 2gen) and Risa (Watanabe Risa) are up there just after the Nogi top three. Nao-chan is bursting onto the scene in a big way.
