Kobayashi Yui blog summaries: Girls Award, A mother's love, Breaking her diet, A responsible leader?

1. Girls Award

Yui-chan says that at GirlsAward, when Keyakizaka did their mini-live, she was worried that the female audience would not be as enthusiastic about the unsmiling songs they did: Silent Majority, Getsuyoubi no Asa Sukaato wo Kirareta, and Eccentric. But once they started singing, they heard all the same chants a male audience would give, coming from female voices. It made her very happy.

She says that she was on the runway for the fashion house evelyn, and so was Shida Yuumi, the model and member of Yumemiru Adolescence. She's someone Yui has admired since elementary school, but Yui-chan was so nervous she didn't go and talk to her. It was like a dream to be there on the runway with so many models she admired.

Kobayashi Yui blog: National tour regrets, and admiration for Hiragana

Thanks for waiting ☆彡

Kobayashi Yui
2017.09.14

It's Kobayashi Yui.
Good evening.

On KeyaKake, they showed behind the scenes at the National Tour.

I'm sorry for not being able to update my blog.

I started to write about the tour
But I didn't have the right words to say what I wanted to.
Moreover, I wondered about things I might not want to tell the fans,
And ended up not knowing what to write.

The way I've ended up writing this may be somewhat mistaken.
But there are things I didn't want to tell people.
My feeling is that I don't want to tell people
Things that are minuses, that are negative.

What I want people to know
Is that I am looking forward positively. That's what I want to say.

On this tour, a lot of things happened.

Kobayashi Yui welcomes new members

Here's an excerpt from Pon's blog posted Wednesday 14 June:

And the application period for auditions to join Hiragana Keyaki
Only has three days left now.

Up until August 2015, I was an ordinary first-year high-school student, too.

Saitou Fuyuka now stalking KobaYui: "It's not Pon-Inspection"

Oda Nana has been taking stalkerish photos of Kobayashi Yui for months now, and including them in a series she calls "Pon Inspection." Now Saitou Fuyuka has taken a couple of excellent shots of Pon unaware.

Kobayashi Yui photos: Oda Nana's "Pon Inspection" Series

Back in the spring of 2016, Oda Nana began taking -- sometimes sneaking -- photos of Kobayashi Yui, whom she says she adores. This became the Pon Kansatsu ("Pon Inspection") series, and has now stretched to 36 images. Buckle your seatbelts, here we go! Source.

Prologue,  9 April 2016: Neverending love.

Reading a photo -- Neru, Mon and Pon

It's always chancy to look at a photo -- especially a posed photo -- and imagine you can see anything of the real nature of the people being photographed. But looking at three of my favorite members of Keyakizaka46 in this photo, I can't help reading things into it.

Nagahama Neru, Suzumoto Miyu, and Kobayashi Yui (l-r) sit neatly posed for a magazine photo feature:

But look into their eyes. What is see is a Suzumon just sitting there posing, within herself. She seems happier to me these days than she has been since joining Keyakizaka46, and I can't help seeing that here, in an expression that seems calm and unworried.

Yui-pon has the air she often does of hiding slightly, receding from view, harboring doubts and potential objections.

Neru seems to me to be communicating with the viewer directly. She seems open and ready to relate. It might be something as simple as having bigger eyes, lol, but this is what I see.

Kobayashi Yui: We will keep climbing the hill

Most members of Keyakizaka46 have made blog posts on the occasion of their first anniversary together. Many people think Kobayashi Yui's was the best:

...

Yesterday, the 20th of August
We had the chance to perform
At TV Asahi Summer Festival Summer Station.

We were actually able to do a live on a stage
right next to a fantastic place like Keyakizaka.

Thank you very much
to everyone who came.

Suzumoto Miyu: big watermelon, big help, big pictures

Suzumoto Miyu's grandmother gave her an enormous watermelon. She shared it with her fellow Keyaki-chans...and with us.

"My grandma sent me a watermelon. Does this show how big it is?"

Asking Keyakizaka members: "What kind of man might you marry?"

A new magazine article (in Bomb magazine) featuring four members of Keyakizaka46 asks them the question: "What kind of man might you marry?"

Yuipon: "A man whose face was cute when he was embarrassed."
Akanen: "A man who was a good cook. I want him to make me delicious meals♡"
Mona: "A man whom I didn't know what he was thinking. When you don't know what he's thinking, he must be thinking about a lot of things."
Risa: "A man who doesn't get angry. You wouldn't get into arguments with someone who was nice and had a generous heart." (This makes me wonder again about her relationship with her father. There were vague hints in ep33 of the TV show that it might be a bit rocky.)

Keyakizaka46 Nagasaki festival report

Keyakizaka46 played the Huis ten Bosch outdoor music festival on Saturday in Nagasaki.

They did a 25-minute set including Yamanote Sen, Silent Majority, a new overture film, and Te wo Tsunaide Kaerou ka. Comments on 2channel said the group did well in this "away" appearance.

Then a group of them came back on stage for a talk session with former AKB48 star Takahashi Minami, who acted as MC.

In this photo of the finale of Te wo Tsunaide, you can see in the back row the blue Hiragana Keyaki uniform worn by Nagahama Neru. She was subbing for Nagasawa Nanako, who had to stay home because of school.

In her comments for wake-up television, Kobayashi Yui said that this is the first time they've performed outdoors, and it was really exciting. I had a video from the TV show, but it has been taken down from YouTube.

Does Kobayashi Yui read 2channel?

In her blog today, Yui-pon refers to the two weeks during which the Keyakitte, Kakenai? TV show has been bumped for tennis as a "Keyaki deficiency" (欅不足 keyaki fusoku).

This expression comes from 2channel, but is widely seen on Keyaki news sites. So using it doesn't prove she reads 2channel, but maybe.... I wouldn't put it past her.

But an idol has to be mentally strong to read 2channel, where she could easily come across some pretty nasty stuff about her (not in Yui-pon's case so far, though, as far as I have seen).
