Hirate Yurina: the Empress

A little collection of photos and comments from 2channel....

The monster of Heisei. [the current Japanese era]

Techi waikaa! [note: waikaa = kawaii]

"Don't let adults tell you what to do."

She can also make this kind of expression, full of kindness and love. Like a Sage Empress.

What other idol could say "kakatte koi!" ["Bring it on!" which she said after the first song of the Christmas lives.]

"Techi Metal"

Make no mistake about it: she's a monster. We've really found something special.

Techi's smiling face is staggeringly cute.

You are beautiful.

It's not just an aura, she has acting ability, too. She could easily appear in dramas.

Her cool magnificence on singing programs, and her innocent cuteness on KeyaKake and KeyaBINGO: the gap is fantastic.

On Countdown Japan, even the rock fans thought it was amazing when she threw her switch, the power came to her eyes, and her aura went full-on.

These comments are from a short thread called "The monster called something like 'Hirate Yurina'" on the "Underground Idol (AKB48)" board at 2channel. The thread includes lots of negative posts, too, from fans of other groups who think she's ugly and un-idol-like. Too bad for them. Collated by source

The words I have translated "sage empress" actually refer to the wise and powerful sage emperors at the beginning of Chinese history, or to later great emperors.

  2. @Anonymous -- "Countdown Japan 16/17" was on 16/12/28. K46 was added to the lineup relatively late, apparently. I haven't seen any videos. I've seen it referred to as a rock festival, but the guest lineup seems mixed. Here's the artist list: http://countdownjapan.jp/1617/artist

We don't see her switch come on at the start of the song, unfortunately. In the interview, Hirate mentions with pride that she has grown 4cm since she joined K46.
