You may be wondering about the title. Tate-yomi ("vertical reading") is a word game where the first words of every line make a secret message. In this case, they make the message: "You enjoyed this (or 'little') Kaki first, but don't change your oshi, eh ♥ " A nice admission of the other part of Memi's true feelings about the newcomers, whom she so graciously welcomes in the open text.

Onigiri are rice-balls, a staple of Japanese lunches, and especially of convenience-store shelves. They are often triangular, with a piece of seaweed on the outside and some filling in the middle. One Japanese site describes them as "Japanese soul food." Shiomusubi are like onigiri but simpler, with no filling and just some salt on the outside. Above are shiomusubi (from 7/11). It turns out that we shouldn't give Memi too much credit for originality here. Moriya Akane did a similar coded message, on the same subject, back in April when details of the auditions became known. Here's a Japanese site explaining hers. Maybe I'll give Memi credit for Hiragana-Kanji group feeling, instead, lol.
