The story began back on January 6, when egg-loving Naako bought an "eggling." That's an eggshell with soil in it and some seeds, with instructions on how to grow seedlings.
Naako: "Two eggs." |
Last year, she tried to grow an aloe plant, but it withered. She didn't know what the seeds she put in her eggling were -- she had known but forgot -- but she had high hopes they would sprout and grow. She added water, as instructed.
Day one: no change
As the days passed, Naako kept reporting her observations in her blog. Day two: no change. She was feeling frustrated.
Day three: no change, but at least she discovered that the seeds were for Italian parsley.
Day four: no change, and Naako is weeping.
Day six, and still nothing is happening. "Maybe the humidity in my room is too low.... Italian Parsley is fighting hard every day."
Day seven, no change, and Naako is upset and giving up hope.
She finally decided to add sugar water, having learned that it should help the seeds to sprout.
And on day ten: "Look...!"
"I'd given up hope. But somehow it sprouted\(〈●〉〈●〉)/!! And there were several of them~
"To all of you who have supported Italian Parsley: thank you very much m(*_ _)m
"Then I decided on a name for Italian Parsley: Sebari-chan.
"From now on, please continue to support Naako and Sebari-chan."
The saga continues.... Will the Sebari-chans survive? Will they grow big enough for Naako to eat them? Will she be able to eat them?
In the meantime, she plans to bring Sebari-chan with her to the next handshake session, in Chiba this weekend.
