Imaizumi Yui quashes a rumour

A tweeter claimed Saturday that he and Imaizumi Yui talked at that day's Yokohama handshake event about communicating by text-message.

Apparently alerted by staff, Zuumin immediately blogged that it was not true and more or less threatened to stop doing handshake events if this kind of false claim continued to be made.

The tweets claimed that in two visits to her line on Saturday, he gave her his handle and they talked about texting each other. She replied in her blog that it never happened. She said the report shocked and saddened her, and apologized to her fans for it.

She said that she and Keyakizaka46 have so much support from everyone: fans, staff, and others. She wants to do these handshake events for fans. But if such claims keep being made, she can't continue.

I often wonder about the purported direct reports from fans about handshake-event conversations with members, which I read on 2channel during and after every handshake event. Most seem plausible. This one went beyond what an idol would do, at this level of the idol world.

It states clearly on the Keyakizaka46 official site's FAQ that members do not have social media accounts and fans should check the official twitter account. No doubt they do text with friends and family, but the principle is clear: no private communication with fans.
